ELocker engagement question

ok lets say you put the truck in 4 low and hit the diff lock button. is that light still supposed to blink or should it be illuminated. or does the rear wheels have to slip first untill it engages. reason is because mine just blinks in 4low

It needs to light up and stay solid. If you wheel it without a solid light then you run the risk of damaging locker/diff parts because it is not fully engaged yet. Seems like all elockers have their own little tricks to get them to engage. My 99 Taco liked to be rolled backwards and then forwards a few times to get it to lock up.

Don't just go in a straight line! Turn! I played around with mine out in my driveway for half an hour before I figured that out. It wouldn't engage going straight back and forth I had to turn and drive into my yard and then it engaged.

make sure you clean the place where you got your ground real good. I mean with a wire brush. I did mine three years ago, then recently it would act up on me now and again. A little bit of crap at the grounding point will give you loads of trouble.

I'm changing mine over to a manual cable operated locker. It will still have the indicator light, but no more electrical stuff to fart around with.

The blinking means its gotten the command, but hasnt locked yet. Motor is doen turning, its spring loaded. As soon as the axles align on both sides, ti will lock and the light will stay on. Usually, a slight turn is all that is needed.

There is a sensor on the top of the locker motor that changes the light from blinking to solid when the locker engages. You can unscrew the sensor and clean it. Sometimes the sensor will get stuck.
