Electric Fan Install on 03 V-6
This isn't a step by step install thread. I just happened across some pics I took of the install I did on my brother's 2003 about 5 or 6 years ago. To date, the fan is going strong with no fan or controller issues.
I bought a decent quality replacement Taurus 2 speed fan and bolted it to the stock shroud. I didn't want to take my chances on a used junkyard or eBay stock Taurus fan so I got the new one.
I bolted the fan in the stock shroud and wired it up with a DC fan controller.
Fan bolted in. Lazy garage dog for posterity

So this allows your engine to run colder by how many degrees ??
Did you also install a lower degree Thermostat like 165 Degrees ??
Stronger then the stock set up??
Please explain the advantages to doing this??

When I was considering doing the electric fan, (1) it was because it would be nice for even bumper deep water crossings to be able to shut the fan off so you don't through a ton of water on top of the motor and alternator, (2) and research suggests you would get better gas milage due to less rotating mass, (3) you also get 2 speeds so if your wheeling in 4L up hill on a hot day you can rest assured the electric fan will keep it cool on the "hi" setting but I'm sure the old clutch fan would work to. (4) the engine bay looks and is so much nicer to work on without that huge clutch fan in the way. I'm still waiting for one of my clutch fans to fail so I can justify doing this and would want it to be thermostatically controlled and capable to shut it off.

What happens when it quits does one always carry the extra electrical parts to fix this.
I removed quite a few of these electric fans never installed one.
Since no one I admit to know will drive through engine deep water on purpose unless alcohol in quantity is involved I see no need to be able to shut off the fan

What do you do when your clutch fan fails? You crank up the heat get off the throttle and get to where your going quick.
I have never seen anyone swap a electric fan out for a clutch fan before on the same motor, but they do fail just like clutch fans but I don't carry my spare clutch fan with me.
In the North where I am sometimes getting to the hunt camp or your favorited fishing hole and campsites envolves a river and mud hole crossings that can be quite deep if a storm rolls though or a dam lets go, and I'm the first to admit I love water crossings and mud holes.

I never had a clutch fan fail only in the way it spins all the time.
Then I never venture far from the Mall so if I have problems the vehicle gets loaded on a roll back to come home.
