E-locker not engaging :help:

Ok so I was out in some mud today playin' around and I figured i try out the old locker. Put it in 4low and pushed the button and nothing . The rr diff lock light just keeps flashing and won't engage and go solid . I've only had the truck for about 2 months now and it's been great but this just bugs me now. Any one have any idea's what it could be and how much it would be to fix it?

On my 99 Taco I would have to roll forward and backwards a couple of times to get it to lock up and the light to go solid. I imagine it needed to be taken apart and cleaned up.

Drive slowly forward turning the wheel alittle back and forth and that should allow it to lock up.

I'll have to get under it tmw and see if I can see any loose or broken wires. The trucks in excellent shape that's why I was shocked when it wouldn't engage. I tried moving back and forth and turning the wheel and everything, nothing happens. This may seem dumb to some of you put what might need to be taken apart and cleaned? The motor? If so then where is it located. Would you recommend I try this myself or should I take it to someone?

No I've only had the truck for about 2 months now and I've never actually used the locker before. I was just saying that it was wierd that it didn't work considering how well maintained the the truck was. It's also a 5spd if that changes anything.

I probably will but i want to get it to work before I mod it to work in 2wd. No point if it won't even work in 4low! I haven't had a chance to check the connections underneath as it was a busy weekend for me. I've got a pretty busy school schedule during the week so I'll have to get under it maybe friday afternoon and see if I can figure this out. I'll let you guys know if I find anything.
