E-Brake issues
I just put in new brake shoes, readjusted the pads so there was just a slight rub and gave it a test. It brakes so much better now, car doesn't feel like its going to face plant. I am still having a problem with my e-brake not working though. It barely grabs at all when I yank it up and if the car is in drive it powers right through it.
Is there some other place I am supposed to adjust the ebrake cable?
It feels really tight when I pull up on the handle.
Thanks,
Jeff

Bellcranks are frozen?....
Follow the e-brake cables at the arm that goes into the backing plate on each side...these are called bellcranks.
You will have to remove them and work them back and forth in a vise and lube them to get them to work correctly.

The bellcrank will remove from the drum side:To do it right you need to remove the drum, remove the E-brake cable from that side, remove the two bolts that hold the belcrank in the backing plate, unhook the belcrank from the small inside cable(goes to adjuster)..
Place belcrank in vise(sometimes they are frozen bad),remove rubber boot, work back with hammer/pliers(might have to beat w/hammer to get it to move),untill it moves freely..coat piviot w/antisieze or caliper grease, bearing grease(to seal out moisture)..install rubber boot..install bellcrank,E-brake cable,drum,wheel........
If its an emergency..you can beat the belcrank in towards the backing plate with a hammer....don't use e-brak untill you fix it..
