Drove my 4runner for the first time in the snow today!

just to show you how stupid some people are, i went to the local fred meyers to pick up some antifreeze and there was a guy in a chevy silverado spinnin circles in the parking lot about 50 yards from where i was parked. it was dark so i could faintly see the outlines of the truck, and the headlights, when all of a sudden, the left headlight was higher than the right, then higher. smart guy spun himself towards a snow pile that was packed harder than ice, and almost tipped over.

Hi all! I just got my 4runner on Dec 31st. A '97 limited. On New Years Day we were visiting my girlfriends parents and her dad says "well, lets see what it can do..." He's got an old CJ, an 84 landcruiser and a newish pathfinder. He takes me around their property, I've never driven a 4wd before, so he's telling me about 4wd hi and 4wd low.. We get to this one point, a snow bank maybe a couple feet. I tired to get over it, but couldn't make it. He says we should go around. I figure lets try again with the diff lock on.. Awesome! Right through! Anyways, it probably wasn't a big deal for most of you. But for me it was just incredible. Here is a picture of my new 4runner... you can just see the tail of my mr2 sticking out..(totally useless in winter). Happy New Year everybody!!

Very clean Andy!
I've only goofed around in the snow a few times, but when other cars are not around. I did a total of 2 360's in a parking lot once, and tested my flex on a snow pile.
I did however have fun in our last snow storm, when coming from a stop I was turning left (in my neighboorhood), with 4WD and ended spinning completely around... I had no way of stopping my slide... Absolutely incredible, because I can usually induce slides and pull myself out of it, but this one just wouldn't come out.
And now we're getting a little bit here in denver. Not much, but I'll take it.
