A dream coming true....

Mr. Yoda is going to begin his transformation next week. This is something I have wanted for a lonnnnnggg time, so if there is anything you would like to add, please do so. So far I have the following setup in mind. Any help on brands would be great, though I am familiar with most (looking more for opinions for those have had these things on their rigs).

Rear coils (most likey Downey)
Bilstien shocks
25 mm Torsion Bars
Steering stablilizer
Aisin manual hubs (read a few threads that shyed me away from Warn)
Low-Profile bumpstops
Sway-away bars (are these really needed?)
1" body lift
33" tires
new rims (this is COMPLETELY open, I have no clue)

A friend of mine who has his own shop is going to be helping with me with all of this though we are already butting heads. He seems to think a lift kit would be more practicle, BUT I don't wanna spend that much money.

Anything I am missing that is absolutely needed?

Thanks guys and girls for all of your input and info on this forum, you have NO IDEA how much you've all helped!

"Sway-away bars (are these really needed?)"

You mean disconnects?
I'd say take off the 25mm torsion bars. My list of items was almost exactly the same as yours, minus the body lift. I bought the torsion bars, and they are the only thing that are still sitting on my shelf right now.

I didn't do enough research, and didn't realize they weren't really neccesary unless you have alot of weight at the front. (Aftermarket bumper, winch).

I'd toss a locker onto that list myself. I wish it was the first thing I did

New rims are a definate on my list. Was the first thing I did when I got my truck.

The list looks good otherwise.

Hey man, I just looked at your cardomain page and realized you just asked me about my clear tailights and I asked you about your backup lights. Small world! Good to hear your going to go all out on that runner of yours. I have been doing the same over the past 2 years and I am about $1500 form compleetion. Yea! Keep us posted and update your cardomain page when you get some of that stuff installed!

Yea, about the tortion bars, they will make the ride stiff and I love the smooth suple ride of the stock suspention so I am shying away from thoes myself.

Ok, scratch the first comment ....... tomorrow Mr. Yoda will have a 4" Pro-Comp lift. He may have the same 31's for a little while, but 33's coming soon. I'll post before and after as soon as it's done! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

yeah 4" Pro-comp was my dream set-up on my old '90. GO for it!

Instead I did the T-bars and 1.5 downey coils and it was stiff as hell in the front...:

LMAO .. well I am on my way to Cali in August. I am thinking your payments are more than my house payments so I am going to have to pass this time.

I personally prefer a smaller suspension lift accompanied by a small body lift (1"-2") that way you have all the tire clearance and you keep your center of gravity a little lower. Plus with a body lift you can do a drivetrain lift (lift the engine, tranny, gas tank, etc. with the body) tucking everything b/t the frame rails.
