I am thinking about getting a MSD ignition box. Either the 6a or the 6aL. The difference is that the 6aL has has a Rev limiter but if the 2.7L already has one it will be a wasted function. Anyone know if the 2.7L has it?

 

it sure does, i have bounced off mine a couple of times off roading.

yup, the 2.7, 2.4, 3.4, and 4.7 do. my 22r doesnt, though. it has seen and survived 7200 rpm's. with a redline of 5500. (gas pedal got stuck to the floor)

 

my friend had a '78 pickup with a 20R, back when toyota still had the awesome 10" long gas pedal(changed them in 84 or so to the tiny one)

anyhow it stuck to the floor once and sent the engine to 8500 rpms, and survived perfectly
