disconnecting front sway bar temporarily
so what do you guys do to temporarily disconnect your front swaybar on your 3rd gen?
not talking about quick disco's, i dont have them yet.
what im asking for is what bolts do you take off, what do you tie it to and how, etc.
thanks guys, pictures would be wonderful also!

my end link bolt snapped like a twig when i went to install my disco's. both sides. just take out one side..keep the other one on if you want to get a feel of it on & off road. top nut & nut on the lower control arm. no need to tie anything, as the other side will keep the sway bar located. just make sure you remove the whole link on the side youre taking off. check out wabfab's site for pics...

hey sean, just unbolt the links from the lower arms, you can use zip ties or bailing wire to tie it up out of the way, or do what i did and just unbolt the extra 4 12mm bolts on the frame and toss it in the garage.. you can make it th cleghorn and back with no front sway no problem, i ditched mine three weeks ago and havent thought about putting it back on.

My only thought of only removing one side is that the sway bar is pivoting in its mounts, rubber or poly, alot more that with both sides (normal configuration) I would think that you would wear out your mounts fast.

ok ill try just one side.
it would only be for an offroad trip, disconnected at the trailhead and then reconnected and the end of the trail while im airing back up i suppose.
