8" 4 Pinion Rear

You need 8" V6 Gears and Lockers for the Rear. You CAN'T use Gears and Lockers designed for the Tacoma/T100/Tundra Rear. You CAN use Gears and Lockers designed for the older 4Runners and Trucks with the 8" Ring Gears as long as they are for the V6 4 Pinion Diff.

7.5" Reverse Rotation Front

You CAN use Gears and Lockers that fit the Tacoma Front Diff for the Front. You CAN'T use Gears and Lockers designed for the Standard Rotation 7.5" Front Diffs.

Hope this helps.

When did they start putting reverse rotation gears in the front of 4Runners? AFAIK, they exist only in FJZ80 (and maybe 100) Landcruisers.

The Taco's and 4Runner's both use reverse rotation gears in the front. The 7.5" gears that they use are not interchangeable with other Toyota 7.5" diffs.

I have never heard anything to the contrary.

You can use lockers for the standard rotation front ends, either that or my RD90 is really confused. I have standard rotation in my 95 and everyone else with a 96-2002 has reverse, but the same 7.5" diameter and carrier.

The start of reverse rotation in 4-Runners was 96.
