Did up some limb risers

Perfect day to give some attention to the 4runner. Decided to go up to Lowe's and do a little hardware shopping and come up with some limb risers. Ended up painting it all black to blend it in, overall pretty happy with it! Cost a little under 50 bucks and 3 hours constructing it best.

Coating all the pieces, in retrospect I should have done this last

lower mount u bolt base anchor

upper mount p shape clamp anchor with adjuster

all done

Not bad.

Can they easily be loosened to raise your hood and then tightened back down afterwards?

They are used for what the title says. Limb risers. So when you hit people they dont break your windsheild

But really, just lifts branches so they dont mess up your rig as much.

yeeaaaaa... I feel pretty retarded. I got it after I posted it and was like screw it, I'll leave it haha Wish they had a smiley for "way over my head" lol

I kinda like it but I personally wouldn't sport it. I give Miller a month before he gets rid of 'em

Yeah both sides disconnect within a minute, same with reconnecting but it may take an extra minute adjusting to desired tautness. To remove you just unscrew the pin from the shackle at the arb and unscrew the lower bolt from the turnbuckle and voila.

Man I've been running these into the ground on rock mud and pavement for the last year and a half. I'd say I have 20k on them I have been slack with my record keeping. I wouldn't be the best person to ask...especially since they've been on 3 different width rims so the wear has been a pain a little bit

Haha I'm sure that's what it will double as once the roof top camper goes on

Bingo bango, well aesthetically speaking I actually like them but to each their own. Mostly for functional sake but I don't mind running em, just another reason for everyone to stare

How long have you been running the 883s for Miller? I never noticed that before.

I was one of the first to run the 883 in the states, I was used as a guinea pig to confirm spring rate, lift, firmness, etc. Maybe 2+ years now

I like 'em. Though I think i woulda done them a bit differently. Are you at least going to chop off the excess lengths of the u-bolts?--would really make it look cleaner I think.

It also looks like they may interfere with opening the hood all the way...? I wouldn't like to have to undo them to open the hood...but that's just me. Perhaps you could mount them off to the side of the rack more somehow...

The u-bolts are temporary. It will be replaced with either a p shape clamp or a rivnut, depends on the route I want to take. You cannot open the hood with these on but I can have both sides off within a minute or so.
