Did my 97 Limited come with taller coils?

Since purchasing my 4Runner, I have made some friends who own 4Runners at my school. My friend has a 99 Limited 4WD and comparing the fender gap/hub to fender, my 97 Limited is about 3/4" taller than my friends 99. I had nothing in the back seat and trunk, and stock 265/70R16 tires and so did my friend. I also looked at the front/rear and every other angle and seems like my 4R is indeed taller than his. This makes me think that the 99 coils might actually lower my 4R. Anybody have an explanation for this? We both have our running boards removed if that makes any difference.

My '99 seems to sit a bit taller than my mom's '99 Limited and that was even before I put the bigger tires on.

Just measured my 4Runner both front and back measuring from the center of the wheel hub to the bottom of the fender. Front = 20.75" Rear = 21"

Does that sounds about right?

My mom's at about 70k on her '99 and no sag but towing or haling heavy stuff regularly also quickens the sag and not unlike the effect gravity has had on Susan Sarandon's boobs.

My 4Runner has 144K miles now, so I know the springs have been broken in for some time now. So does my measurement conclude that I won't be getting much lift from the 99 coils? Should I run more measurements before making a conclusion?
