Deck Plate vs. ISR?
I did the DP a few years back and love the extra kick. I began gathering the parts to do the ISR mod the other day and am having second thoughts due to recent threads regarding too much noise due to both mods. I figure, after doing the ISR mod, that I can close the DP to reduce the noise, so I'm wondering which mod adds more power/response on it's own, the DP or the ISR? If I'm going to close the DP because of the ISR, will I be at a loss compared to just having the DP?

Try experimenting; DP with ISR, DP only, or ISR only. See which mod yields better results, then stick with it. Too much intake noise shouldn't be a concern, unless you have a heavy foot.

So, the DP creates power, the ISR reduces the lag time to create the power, but doesn't create more power.
A side effect of the ISR is, of course, removing the silencers, so things will be louder. A side effect of the DP is allowing a larger volume of air to be sucked into the engine through a pretty good sized hole. The larger the hole the _quieter_ the mod will be, but there are limits to how big you can make it.
Each mod will do "it's thing" on it's own, and each will give an increase in intake noise. Each is also reversible so you can play with the combinations.
I predict that the noise won't bother you, and it'll increase the size of the grin on your face.

Thanks for the input. I still need a few parts and not in a rush, but I'm curious to see/feel/here the results! I'll post my opinion when it's done and I've put some miles on it.

I did the ISR before I did the deckplate and I didn't really *feel* much of a difference. I did notice that it was a good amount louder at about 4-5K RPM. Once I did the deckplate mod I was able to feel a noticeable difference.
I later took out the ISR later and did notice a slight drop (cruise control on a hilly freeway was my test. Unscientific but works well enough for me).

If the DP and the ISR are too much sound for you, replace the DP and pull the elbow. I have tried all the combos, and elbow + ISR was a great combo, but too quiet for me. Now all I hear is something whining.
