I know the subject of lifts have been beaten to death, but I am in need of a lift now. My computer is really screwed up and I can't really do any searching (It freezes up on me). I don't have the funds to go with SAW's so I am debating on whether to get Revtek or Daystar. If I am not mistaken the Daystar lift is only like $200 while the Revtek is a little over $300. My question is which of the two is more of a quality kit? Also, are the lift heights gonna end up being about the same?

I bought the Revtek. When I looked at the kit compared to the Daystar. I thought the Revtek would produce a harsh ride. The design of the Revtek puts the spacer on top the spring. Causing it to be compressed, and allowing less play. But the ride is awsome. Its not stiff at all. Im running Bilstein shocks and struts, and the ride feels a little better than stock. My lift came out when measured 3.1 inches up from and 2.6 in the back. I hate the sag in the back. Soon as I get some money Im gonna go buy springs for the rears.

 

My vote is for Revtek. Also, it comes with replacement rear shocks. The ride is not harsh or stiffer at all.

 

I think it only comes with rear shocks on the 4 gens. It would be nice if my 3rd gen kit came with shocks.

 

d'oh! well, i was unable to use the shocks, so if anyone wants them, i have a set lying around here.

nonetheless, i still vote for revtek!

 

how come you couldnt use the shocks??? I want new shocks for my 3rd gen. Im running Bilistens, and am bored. I tweek and want somthing new

ah, well, yes, I would go that route as well, I just said Revtek because it says "Daystar v. Revtek" .. but if Cornfeds are an option, go with those!

 

I would have gone with Cornfed was well. But I got a awsome deal on mine. So I couldn't refuse. I see they got the replacement shocks for the front. But what about the rear?? I just want somthing new. I got Bilsteins, is they're anything thats gonna produce a better ride that that? I was looking into Robby Gordons Mx6 shocks, but I figured I get to lazy to adjust it.

Okay my vote if I was to do it over again is SAWS up front and in the rear OME but if your on a budget go cornfeds 2 1/2" up front a diff drop and OME rears.
May want to check the for sale area I see cornfeds there all the time not like they wear out or anything.

 

My vote is neither. Save your money and get something that isn't going to put your CVs at such a harsh angle like seen on another ongoing thread. Get OME all around $600 or some spacers, even cheaper, but I would stay away from Revtek and Daystar lifts if it was my rig. If you are just looking to clear some bigger meats get a 2" Roger Brown body lift and do some pinch weld trimming (less than $150).

Doesn't Daystar offer a lift smaller than 3" too though? I know there is a 2.5" lift for the 4th gens ... and I'd think that something around that wouldn't be as hard on the CVs as the 3" ...
