I installed my 1" BL yesterday and wanted to share pics of the transformation (Daystar to OME and finally to BL). The install was pretty easy. I actually went real slow and took about 3 hours. Since we don't have much rain and no snow here in Phoenix, none of the bolts had any rust and were very easy to remove. I ended up reusing one of the OEM bolts for the mounts at the front of the cab since the threads on the 4Crawler bolt looked like it would bottom out. I also didn't use the bumper relocation brackets that I ordered with the kit. They aren't really needed. I just drilled a 1/2" hole 1" up on the OEM bumper bracket and it worked perfect. I'm very pleased with the overall look since adding the OME lift and BL.

Looks great. I really like my OMEs, they are a little stiff on road like you say, but when you air the tires down to 10-15 psi for off road, the OME set up is really plush. Rock that 4x2 man, at least it's locked! I drive around a lot in 2wd with the rear locked, it will handle a lot still.

The rig looks awesome man. I'm jealous of that black with the slick flares. And the pics are great.

Those pics really show what difference 2.5-3" makes and what a 1" BL can do.

Good reference pictures for people. And pretty cool to know my rig will soon be sitting at that level.

Are you running wheel spacers with the 285's? Or did the aftermarket rims offset solve that issue? I wanted to put 285's on mine, but with stock rims, they wouldn't fit, so I've been thinking about wheel spacers.

Tomorrow I'm putting this same lift on my truck.. How do you like the 1" body lift?

Motocross First. The 285's work with the stock rims with a wheel spacer. Alot cheaper than the rims. Depends on your taste though. Personally I have the 2inch body lift and I love it. However it is combined with the daystar 2.5 inch coil spacer which was possibly the dumbest idea i have ever gone through with. But, this will allow no rubbing with the 285/75. Hope install went well. Good luck

Oh and there was no extra work when you compare the 1" body lift to the 2". However the 3" is a lil extra work.

Hey! Was hoping I could get some info/guidance from you regarding your old daystar lift.

Was your ride quality at all comprimised?

You said you had it for 8 years did any suspension components fail becuase of them such as cv joints?

Did you install your 1" diff drop or any drop to the diff with the daystar lift?

THANKS in ADVANCE~!

I've had the Daystar lift for about 8 years with stock springs and shock and noticed that the springs have started to sag over the years. I ended up purchasing from ToyTec. Very FAST service. This is what I went with:

881 Front Coils
890 Rear Coils
OME-90004 Shocks
OME-60027 Shocks
Top plate spacers

I'm very please with the look and quality. It sits nice and level. It is more stiff than before. I feel all the cracks in the road, but it's a good firm ride. I forgot how much of a headache the front strut assemble can be to re-install. So...this time, I unbolted the swaybar end links and the 4 bolts that hold the lower balljoint to the control arm. Once the control arm was loose, I just stepped on it to give me the extra space I needed to fit the assembly. It worked real nice. I ordered my 1" body lift from Roger Brown (4Crawler.com) last week and will take pics after install and share them.

Below are a few pics before and after. I also have a pic with the OME in the rear and the Daystar in the front.

Oh...and if any one is interested, I have the Daystar lift for sale on Ebay:
