I finally found time to install my new OME lift. I went from a Daystar 2 1/2" poly spacer lift to a complete OME spring lift. I've had the Daystar lift for about 8 years with stock springs and shock and noticed that the springs have started to sag over the years. I ended up purchasing from ToyTec. Very FAST service. This is what I went with:

881 Front Coils
890 Rear Coils
OME-90004 Shocks
OME-60027 Shocks
Top plate spacers

I'm very please with the look and quality. It sits nice and level. It is more stiff than before. I feel all the cracks in the road, but it's a good firm ride. I forgot how much of a headache the front strut assemble can be to re-install. So...this time, I unbolted the swaybar end links and the 4 bolts that hold the lower balljoint to the control arm. Once the control arm was loose, I just stepped on it to give me the extra space I needed to fit the assembly. It worked real nice. I ordered my 1" body lift from Roger Brown (4Crawler.com) last week and will take pics after install and share them.

Very nice! I've this exact same OME kit from ToyTec waiting to be installed - hopefully I'll get to it this week. Didn't get the front spacers, though.

 

those nitro sport shocks are tits. I may replace my rears for a set of those.

Where did you find those nitro sports? I was rockin the OME nitrochargers in the rear for a while, till I ripped off the shock eye and welds.

They were pretty plush on the ride though.

I thought i would let someone else note it first due to the fact my eyes might have been playing tricks on me. But it looks like there isn't a CV joint in there at all.

But ... from the pic of the rear it looks like you can see the CV's on both side...or is that the steering?

 

Yea I looked at that picture too and that's the tie rods for sure.

So, is this a 2wd 4runner were talking about?

 

From the pics of the front you can tell the cv's are not there.

 

To end all speculations.....I have a custom front end. I call it.........2wd

I do have 456 locker in the rear and that has worked well on any light trails I've wheeled and pulling my jet skiis out of the water etc.

 

2wd.... interesting, Must have made installation a breeze.

 

Truck looks great! Its funny, I just replaced my Daystar spacers this weekend too.

 

It looks good don't get me wrong but its kinda like getting icecream without a cone.

 

Nice pictures man... Just wondering, did the kit come with new bottom bolts for the front struts?

 

Thanks! No....The old bolts were a bit tight coming off, so I installed new ones.
