Custom made supercharger pulley

Pulley Boys can custom make a supercharger pulley that will fit as long as you give them 2 weeks. Does anyone know how big the stock pulley is? I think it's 2.5 inches but I'm not sure.. I figure since the 2.2" 9 lb pulley creates excessive heat why not try a 2.3" or 2.4". If somehow it makes 1 more lb of boost with "actual" gains then why not. I'm willing to pay 90 buck for 10 more horsepower

I only have the 3.0 but from what I've heard the 3.4's have had a problem with running too lean from the supercharger. It might not be as bad as the 9 lb. pulley, but it will still be a factor. Just my 2 cents.

The key to more power with the TRD supercharger IS NOT MORE BOOST. It is in proper fuel delivery and tuning.

I know one truck that is getting 260 RWHP and I am upto 250 RWHP with the stock pulley. Do you know anyone getting that with a higher boost pulley?

I'm selling a Maxx Auto pulley if you are interested. E-mail me.

I wasn't impressed with it. I only gained 1.5 psi, but I'm also 5,200 feet above sea level.

I figured that would be the general response. I'm sure Gadget is getting tired of saying the same things over and over again. I already have the Walbro pump. 305cc injectors and supra maf are just sitting here, but will eventually get them installed this week. Gadget, can you explain to me why I am showing a rich mixture at WOT before doing the fuel mods? I even did the deckplate mod and still the first blue light on the SS air/fuel ratio meter is lit. I installed the 02 sensor right before the catalytic convertor, on the opposite side of the stock sensor.

It seems to be working just fine, but do you think that the air/fuel meters that require their own sensor aren't as accurate?
thanks

WOT at what RPM?

Check it with a wide band O2 and see what it really is.

At WOT, it happens at all RPMs. When I floor it, the gauge never moves. I've also noticed a very heavy buildup of black soot building up on my exhaust tip and I've even noticed that sometimes a black cloud of smoke will come out of my exhaust when I mash on the gas (if any of that means anything). I've also never experienced pinging ever since I got the supercharger 2 years ago.

Other mods so far include the TRD transmission cooler, thermostat, headers and exhaust, 2 step colder plugs, amsoil filters, and the ISR mod

As always, thanks for all the help,
-Neil

I just talked with Split Second. They say there is no problem with the unit. It is reading correctly.

I just don't know anymore..

Of course the ARM1 is reading correctly. Just remember that it is getting its info from a standard O2 sensor. Standard O2 sensors are not accurate at all in that range. They are accurate right at 14.7:1 and the further they get away from that the less accurate they become. If you look at a chart that has voltage on one axis and mixture on the other you will see that it goes almost competely flat in that range.

This is why everyone is switching over the the newer style wide band sensors that do a very good job in that range.

I have both that I use to tune. The ARM1 and a wide band unit and I will tell you for certain that the standard O2 will not hold a candle to the wide band unit.

Now, if you are maintaining an overly rich mixture through the entire operating RPM at WOT you are a very lucky guy. For mine to be able to do that I had upgrade injectors, fuel pump, and install a piggy back ECU.

So, if you want to know what it really is, then have it checked with a wide band unit then you will know for certain. If you are comfortable with where it is now, then just drive it and enjoy the truck.
