Alloy heads and custom headers fitted

I finally got to removing my engine to fit some new SVO GT40X alloy heads. ALLOYS

I also had some custom headers made to suit the 4Runner as the old style manifolds I have been using were starting to crack too often, probably from old age, LOL.

I just got the headers back from being ceramic coated inside and out.
HEADERS 1
HEADERS 2

Got home from work today and refitted the engine but I still have a lot of other projects to be finished before I can get to testing it, which will be interesting.

Hey JD, no one's replied to your post but I'm sure they're all drooling! V8! That's my dream. One day with more time and energy I may do it! What else you got in there and how many horsepower is it putting out? Good luck and keep us informed.

Hey JD.

Still had no luck with finding another E-disco. Found one wrecked Patrol but it allready was sold. Looks like you'r gone have to wait a while longer. But it looks like you still have enough projects to finish so I guess you have time.....
The headers turned out real nice. Hope you can test em soon.
Still cold at night?

Thanks guys.

The HO has been in my 91 4Runner since July 1994 At the time of removing the engine to fit the heads it has done 194,000 trouble free klm's.

It should be putting out close to 350hp now but I am also being wary of mpg in doing modifications. Planning another across trip in early Oct of about 14,000klm so mpg is important.

Here's my page on the conversion back then plus a few changes since, for those that may not have come across it.

HO 4Runner

it needs updating though as in addition to the alloy heads I have recently finished fitting a Detroit Electrac to the rear and swapped out a Truetrac in the front for an ARB plus a few other changes.

Also at present I am fitting an 80 series cruiser roof console for twin Rancho gauges plus a few other electric controls etc.

Yeah mate its still cold. After all these years I just decided to buy a small fan forced bar heater for my workshop and it works a treat. No more frezzing my butt off. Should have thought of it years ago.
