Has anyone fabbed up a custom center console for a 3rd gen 4runner? I have a 97 and the "cup holder mod" seems like a lot of work for still badly placed cup holders.
I'm thinking make one with wood and sand it, cover it in vinyl, and add in a few extras. Spot for power inverter, cb radio, and a locking compartment.

Any thoughts, ideas, useful links?

 

nope.. 99+ console is best. 2 cup holders, 1 small storage, and 1 extra hidden lid storage. how is it alot of work?? especially compared to making one from wood....

 

Finding one mainly. And relocating the buttons. I've never seen one in person but the cupholders still look like they're not placed very well. Any thing bigger than a 12 once can and it looks like the seat would get in the way.
