Osram +50 is a nice upgrade from stock - The bulbs last approximately 10 to 14 months depending on how much night driving you do. The low beam will probably burn out first - that's been my experience anyway.

I converted my stock bulbs to Silverstar about 14 months ago and I like them. Much whiter and brighter than the bulbs that were in there. I drive at night everyday going to work and I haven't had to replace one yet. <knock on wood>. To me they were a worthwhile and reasonably inexpensive upgrade. I looked into an HID upgrade, but $500 was too much. What helped me the most was getting the lights adjusted. The person before me had them adjusted to shine too far in front.

My SilverStars are shining bring after one year and four months give or take a few days. My friend has him in his Jetta and we went out and bought them and replaced them the same day. He is still on the same set of bulbs.
I have DRL still. Can't find any box to disable them by. I searched the pages and looked in my truck to no avail.

Freak: I think that the DRL disabling procedure changed on the '01 and up models so now you actually have to clip a wire under the dash someplace. I'm sure someone here will chime in with the exact instructions. I've been trying to work up the nerve to do this as I want to get a set of Silverstars but I'm not sure I want them burning all day. Does anyone know if the DRLs are actually operating at a lower current/voltage that might not reduce the life of the builbs that much?
One more question, do they make Silverstars in the correct size for the factory driving lights? I would prefer to have them be the same temp/brightness as the headlights if I'm going to make the change. Finally, what sizes are the headlight and driving light bulbs? I can never remember....
Thanks,
Drivie
