Post Coilover Spring replacement help

OK everybody, I've got a few Q's and I hope you can help.

I have the Downey Coilovers on my rig and the coils are sagging to the point where I am going to replace the coils only. I really don't want to use the Downey coils again so I was wondering;

1) What about SAW's coil springs?
2) Does anybody know what the;
Inner Diameter
Outer Diameter
Free Length
Spring Rate
Wire Diameter of the SAW's?
3) Any other alternatives?

I know I could have custom coils made but I am trying to avoid this first.

Any help is appreciated

You should probably check over at the TTORA forum, or the Desert Racers forum on Delphi to see if anyone has access to the specs that you are requesting.

I too am going to replace my coils - I have the SAW coilovers and they have softened up a little too much for my liking. They don't sag, but they have too much give when they are in action compared to what they used to be like. All springs and coils have their fatiguing points...

Anyway, I think you could probably get some Eibach coils to replace the ones you have. I might go with Eibach too.

Another place you might try - is to call Lee at the RaceShock company in Phx. AZ - he can get the Eibachs and may be able to do a good job at cross-referencing.

You could also contact Mike at Xtreme Off-Road

I was just thinking - if this guy has Downey coils that are sagging... I am wondering if any of you guys have had this problem with the rear coils? How many of you guys with the Downey HD's have really beat the wee-wee out of them off-roading for an extended period of time? Are they still holding up for you?

Just curious. Everybody seems pleased as punch with the Downey 4Runner units.

Thanks BajaTaco,

I know I can get most of the info off the Downeys on the truck (wire dia. etc.). I am being hesitant about custom (Eibach) cuz at this point I don't want to wait weeks. Having the specs already to make custom spring would be a big plus. I might have to anyway but it sure would be nice to just take the shock out and switch springs

I know there is a direct replacemtn Eibach for the SAW coilover - I am just not sure about the Downey. You should just measure yours and call one of those guys to see - there may be a direct replacement size ready to go.

That is what I was hoping for. I was asking for the specs so I could copare them to my coil specs. Some of these places it is easier to know what you want than it is to discuss what you want to do. If you know what I mean.
