Cobra C75 CB

What do you guys think of the Cobra C75 WXST Mobile CB Radio?

I like the idea of it not taking up any interior space and have it be easy to store out of site as I would only use it on long trips or when traveling in a group (on or off road, which is somewhat rare)
this is the cheapest price I have found...

anyone?

turboale,

I am considering purchasing one of the Cobra 75 WX ST's as well. I like it for the same reasons you do and I will be using it under the same circumstances. That is an excellent price. I have seen it on some CB websites for $99.00. I have read reviews on various forums and people seem to be pleased with its overall performance. If you do end up getting one I would like to know where you install the power unit. I was going to use the same antenna setup as Corey has on his Runner (hood mount) as it seems to provide optimum performance as well as convenience if you want to remove the antenna.

Thumbs up

I like this unit too. The controls and everything you need are right on the handset so your dash remains uncluttered.

I've heard that the volume and squelch controls are kind of loose on it though, so you are constantly loosing your presets. There is a simple mod to fix the knobs here.

Check out the rest of his website while your there. Althought it mostly pertains to Land Rovers, he has a lot of good ideas about off-road gear.

Cheers

There is a group buy here on the forum somewhere.

Mike was trying to put a CB one together for either this unit, or the Midland like he has.

That's the CB I use. Works great

I like being able to take it out of the rig when I'm in less desireable areas (damn friends need to move).

If a group buy comes to light, I'm in...

This is just the thing that I am looking for. I would primarilary use it when off roading in a group. Otherwise I want it out of sight.
