I've searched the forums and haven't found anything that can help me solve this problem: Occasionally, the digital climate control does not function properly in my '00 Limited Runner. I can change the temperature setting but sometimes the fan just blows air at the temperature that the truck was last set at prior to shutting the vehicle down. Normally occurs after the truck has been parked overnight. Happens both when hot or cold.
When this occurs, I noticed that the cable on the heater hose valve on the firewall under the hood will not move. I disconnected the cable once when it was too hot inside and moved the valve manually closed and the cabin cooled down right away. After driving a while I checked the cable and it had moved the closed position. I reconnected the cable and it has been fine for several days now.
A/C works fine.
Anyone had trouble with their controls? I was thinking that maybe it is the digital control going bad but it would be an expensive piece to buy just to try it out.
