Just emptied the bank account and ordered a pair of Lightforce 170s from Central 4WD talked to a guy named Ty and he was super helpful....

I am looking for a nifty (cheap ) way to mount these guys on my front bumper.
I have read in other posts it is a bad idea to mount the lights directly on the bumper....Has anyone come up with something that mounts the things well without the need to go out and drop 300 dollars on a light/push bar?

I was thinking of getting some 'L' brackets from home depot or something and placing rubber mounts under them to reduce vibrations and bolting that assembly straight onto the bumper - reactions?

Anyone tried anything similair with stuff any ordinary hardware would carry?

you could drop $600 or so on a TJM like me hehe. but really, I'm not sure they'll mount on the stock bumper because of how far back the rear extends past the mount bolt (68mm or 2.68"). there's not alot of space, or at least on my stock 4runner bumper there wasn't. maybe drill holes in the hood, j/k. you could use some HomeDepot bracketry but then they will probably shake and shimmy. I never heard of not mounting them directly to the bumper, I know a couple people here have mounted there hellas directly to it with no problems.

 

Well - this has been asked before but with no real answers:

Is anyone running aux lighting on a Carr Light Wing or the Explorer Pro Comp Bar


Both of these are just about 100.00 - more than I want to spend but still less than some of the other options....the problem is they bolt in the bumper and I am just not sure how sturdy these things will be - most notably the pro comp bar as that seems pretty heavy to be bumper mount only.

Anyways replies appreciated

I would imagine they are sturdy enough. I have seen them on Tacos around.
