To me, clear corners are a fad that came and went with The Fast and the Furious. I've always had a Japanese sports car, and as a result of The F&F, any sort of lighting mods begged for attention from the popo. That being said, however, trucks like your and Finks the clear corners have a factory look. I also like the smoked corners with the "JDM" headlights on a black truck.

Clear corners are the present of most new cars and aren't really a fad,it's just a progression and it's a mod that rarely attracts attention from the cops except at night and using some silly color which will attract the po-po.
It's the rear tails that look cheezy and draw the most attention. Clear corners update the look on older cars and I rarely see that upgrade look bad as long as you use amber bulbs since the actual corners aren't noticeable except in the day.

For me there's no question at all, the clear corners are a must on older cars. You use the correct bulbs so you don't get the egg yolk effect, and it comes off proper. Thus, my first gen will have clear all around. Altezza's are a bad execution of a good idea. Most older taillights look dumb. They are all function and no fun. Altezzas try to fix this, but they are almost always over the top in their design. I wish there was a way to custom design your own on the web and have them made to order. Someone start it up.

I don't think having clear corners would pose much of a legal issue, but if you want to be technical, ALL vehicles by law in North America must have an amber retroreflector on the front side, and a red retroreflector on the side and back of the rear of the vehicle. Putting in amber bulbs into a clear corner does not make it legal since the amber retroreflector is still missing.
In North Americal, parking lights can emit either white or amber light. In the rest of the world, only a white front parking light is allowed.
