cleaning AFM

on my 91 rre how do i clean the AFM sensor or is it not possible?

You can clean the inside but it doesn't really matter. The earlier trucks use a VFM (Vane Flow Meter). It has a vane that opens with the more air that is being sucked in, and sends a signal based on open position to the CPU like a potentiometer.

It doesn't matter much except for a tiny bit of air flow resistance.....doesn't function like a MAF at all.
Just use a clean damp rag to wipe out the inside.
