cigarette lighter problems

I was just trying to use my cigarette lighter outlet to charge my cell phone and I noticed that none of the outlets work unless I push and hold the charger into the cigarette lighter outlet. If I let go it looses power. This happens with all 3 of the outlets in front and the one in the trunk too.

I'm not about too push my charger in during the entire car trip, so how do I fix this?

Might be one of two things, either the side clips on the charger plug are too loose or the spring on the end is too stiff and pushing the plug out. Likely the side clips, you could try opening up the plug and bending the side clips out a little farther with a pair or needle nose pliers and give it a try.

I tried 3 other chargers (radar detector, 2 phone chargers, and a FM transmitter) and had the same issues with all of them.
