chrome trim on running boards

Is the chrome trim that comes on the running boards of Limted 4Runners able to be removed without damaging it? I've only got 2WD and don't do alot of off-roading, and I think it'd look pretty sweet on my SR5.

Has anyone that's ditched their running boards in favor of sliders still got them?

I have running boards with chrome trim for sale. They are practically brand new since I took them them off as soon as I got my 4Runner. PM or E-Mail me if you're interested.

I'm pretty sure '01 running boards will fit, but you might want to check for sure since I'm not exactly certain how running boards mount on '95.

I don't think 01's would fit a 2nd gen. I'm going to pull mine off soon and I'll sell them to anyone who wants them. I think there are quite a few guys here who have pulled theirs off and put on sliders that will sell theirs too so post a message in the for sale area.

Breakerfalls,
I've got a pair of nice 2nd gen running boards with the crome trim on them. They are in very good shape, and they are forsale. They have been in storage ever since I took them off. I'll be glad to sell them to you.

Free? Sounds too good to pass up. Am I reading your profile right... Dallas, Georgia?

If you are in Georgia what part of the state are you in? I have a friend in Atlanta and she owes me a favor, maybe I could have her pick em up for me.

I'm definately interested!

I've never even taken my running boards off... about how much do they weigh? I'd imagine they are quite heavy. I'd have to have them shipped to me by my friend I guess.

Does the chrome parts appear to be removable? If so would anyone be willing to consider removing the chrome and selling it to me? I have perfectly good running boards, I would just like the chrome accents on mine.

Decisons, decisions...

You don't gotta go out of your way to find out, but if you happen to have a chance it'd be great if you could see if the do come off. I'd obviously be willing to pay you for the extra effort.

Thanks again,
Keith

I may be wrong but the 3rd gen running board looks like a slightly different length and the mounting points underneath aren't the same.

Yeah, I was looking at my neighbors 98 last night. Side by side I can tell they are different. If the chrome were removable I think I could make it fit mine, but I don't think I'll be able to swap out the whole running board.

Thanks for all the help though guys,
-Keith
