With a chrome tip or the TRD polish stainless, if you keep it clean it wont rust. About once a month I'll spray foaming glass cleaner on it and it will look great again. If you let it get cloudy looking it will take about a month before it starts corroding.

Keep a cost of wax on the tip is what made mine last years. You need to keep up on it. If you wash your truck once a week, wax the tip once a week.

Ignore the bulbs, look at the tip.

That should be fine then, especially with Jason's wax trick. I may replace mine one day and try keeping wax on it but for now its still not that bad after, I think about two years. Oh and be sure you cover the tip before welding or the sparks will leave ugly scorch bumps on it. Shop that did mine forgot to cover it the first time around, so they had to redo it.

Yeah, I covered the tip. I still got one piece of slag on it that I buffed out so it worked out fine.

I'll try the wax trick and let you know how that works out.
