I got to searching and found this site, makes me sick some the options we can't get here. Check out the rear power mirror in the spoiler area of the 3rd gens.

The question I was asking, was what do those 2 extra wires accomplish? Again, my unit works flawlessly, but I still don't know what those 2 wires do? I'm guessing they serve some miniscule function, but I'd still like to know what that is. To be honest, I don't know what they do. I've been trying to track down someone who does know what they do, but I've had no luck.
Not sure what you're asking, but maybe the link to the write up I posted above will help answer any of your questions.

Not exactly. Me and a handful of other members here have already installed these Field Monitor Units in our 4Runners and they work great. For more information, check out my write up: FM Unit Write Up. (It also contains links to other write ups done by members who have installed them on their 4Runner.)
