I will clean it for now till I get the money to replace it...
The Runner is 200 miles from 100K so it would probably be better to do that...

Hell, our Yota's are ALMOST bulletproof. When something like that pops up, diagnose it and fix it. Just be glad that it's not something that disables the vehicle like some of my friends with domestics and keep truckin'.

If you were out rideing the trails check your connections first, it may have been disconnected some how.

I wish I was out riding the trails
But yesterday I was just waiting at a light when it came on...
So I am sure it is either dirty or just going...

I will probably go through the entire intake and any other sensors that I can clean...
It has been 23k since I got the Runner...
And it has been through alot of mud and water in it's time with me
(what one normal person might do in a lifetime of a Runner I have done in a year....)
So yeah will be doing that after work tomorrow...
Hopefully it will not be raining, but I hear it is suppose to....

this is the code people get and clean there maf. happened to me and thats how i found yotatech. thought i was going to shell out all kinds of dough but didnt have to.

CLEAN YOUR MAF and stop worrying. 99% it will fix it. also, you need to reset your efi (somefuse, just cant remember what it was called) fuse. clean your throttle body while your at it and whala!

10 bucks will get you running. 5 for some crc maf cleaner and 5 for some throttlebody cleaner

on the topic of o2 sensors, and im not sayin im 100% positive on this, but i dont think you can clean them. and even if you were to clean it, that code isnt telling you your o2 is bad, its telling you that somewhere along the line the connection is being interrupted. i think

I am not worring as much on the easy fix...
More the worry that my mother IS regretting getting the Runner to begin with...
(I think she is plotting to get rid of Runner and get me a Honda Civic :gasp: )

I will get on that once it stops pouring out...
We have a tornado warning in the area and it is pouring so I don't think it is exactly the best time to be doing work on the Runner...

It also makes me sad that I cna't go chase the Tornado...
(After seeing the Movie Twister I always wanted to get a red Dodge Ram and have it drive into a Tornado LOL!!!)

The 02 sensor is about $150 at the dealership, i got a denso one from a buddy that works at an autoparts store for $75. its an easy fix though. like earlier stated be sure to check and make sure you did not rip the harness off while offroad, this happend to me when i ran over a branch.
good luck, btw i think that is the sensor after the cat.

dude, CLEAN YOUR MAF 1st...i'm (we're) tellin you, the k&n has oil in it. if it was put on new, chances are it had ALOT of oil in it and over times has been pulled through. CLEAN YOUR MAF then reset the code at autozone. SIMPLE...if it comes back, THEN go to your o2 sensor. dont just jump on the sensor right away.

if you need a new sensor, go to URD's site. i think they are 85 and are denso...same as dealer

ERRRRRRR

edit:
i was being funny on my script but guess i was right! hahaha

a buddy of mine has a newer bmw and the cel came on he jumped his codes and came up as his o2 well when he jacked up this car there where 4 o2 sensors
2 after the cat and 2 before and around 150 to 200 each he decided to clean them but before taking them out he used some sea foam.
then the cel turned off after that we have bee trying it in all sorts cars and trucks now my buddy thinks it might also clean out the cat some.
for 4 to 7 $ a can i think it is worth a try i have run it through my truck a few times and no problems.

The MAF and 02 sensor are totaly unrelated, the sensor is throwing the code, so how would cleaning the MAF resolve the issue? i would not mess with the MAF because if you screw that up, theres an easy $300+

Actually the MAF's that were 300$+ were only on the 96's. 97+ are about 140 or 150. cant quite remember the exact price.

YotaFun, you should be fine driving it. If its not spuddering or running bad. which you said its driving fine, but lost some milage.
