cheap off road driving lights question
at pepboys they have these pilot brand navigator lights ,aka driving lights. they are i thinke 6'' in diameter and circular..i have a 99 t4r with brush guard and i was wanting to mount them either in the grille area..or below wehre the license plate is . cant really decide..anyone got pics? anyone ever used these brands?
also, i was goign to take out the bulbs in these when i buy them and replace them with something brighter..is that possible? will i have to do some kinda modding to them? other than taking out bulb and replacing with brighter W bulb?

ya dude i have some like it that i got at autozone... mine are the exact look of the piaa 520s but they were only $40 for the pair and bright enough but i did eventually switch out the bulbs to match the rest of my lights with sylvania silverstars. Go with the top mounted space but if u look on my profile i do have pics and i have baja lights (cheap ones from walmart) on the bottom and they have held up great for only being $20 for the pair.

lol ok so ya they are 6" lights in diameter and i used to run all my lights at night (8 lights total) but got pulled over (warnings) like 3 times for having on too many lights on at night... which wasnt a big deal bc i talked to some cops i no and they cant give me a ticket; can only harass me about it so i do it once in a while.
Sometimes i run the circular lights whenever i drive at night but lately ive been trying to be good bc my gf gets mad when i drive with them on... So ive been only driving with the headlights and fog lights and leaving the other two set for when i go offroading/mudding or when s cut me off and i turn them on with my brights. I have them aimed for maximum output on the roads/offroads which happens to be straight forward which goes directly into ppl's back windows perfectly... HAHA i love it when ppl cut me off then move right over bc they made a big mistake.
With all my lights on they are very bright, if u no anything bout how dark window tint... my friend with a chevy 2500 truck with 5% tint all around said my 4runner when behind him looks like a space ship. I love them and it adds a little personality/individuality to my 4runner.
But ya thnx dude, ive been trying to mod my 4runner for a while now but was only recently able to start my mod list (bc of parents) and well i do plan on getting a roof rack and more lift to make it look way cooler!
Well i hope i was able to help ya out dude...

...i was just about to say in my last post that all you need now is a roof rack lol. and thats funny about the lights and all when ppl piss u off..thats a good idea lmao. nah but i drive out here in GA and some roads at night are like WTF IS OUT THERE! the 6'' look good on ur truck so ill get those, get the upgraded bulbs and stick them in. i didnt really know you could get in trouble for having many lights on so i guess ill just have them on when needed only. it might be a 2-3 weeks b4 i can actually get them and mount them on but ill let u know how it turns out
thanks for the info too it helped

ya dude np with the help and i hope it looks good. The 4 light limit is a texas law but u can any 4 lights here as long as they are 55w. So i can drive with them and my headlights which i do sometimes... so i mean if u dont have fogs or dont wanna use them then go for the 6" lights to get more light. I do that when im driving home bc i live out towards the country side.
