C/F is easy to paint and it's just as durable if not more than a steel hood and weighs less than half of an OEM version.

mine shakes at 80 w/ a stock hood. I believe it's an issue w/ 3rd gen hoods. You can turn the rubber stops down, but too much and the hood won't "pop" when you hi the release.

How is this our job?
Sounds like you want to but want someone else to say "yeah it rocks".
If you like carbon fiber (I am not a big fan) then go for it.

I had a VIS carbon fiber hood on my old BMW... there was no shake to it at all and the fit was nicer than the pervious CF hood I had that cost 3x more.

I have no experience with the 4runner hood, however I wish they would make one for my 2nd gen

That rig looks real nice but billet grilles sure lose their appeal if the bars don't line up. The top and bottom look stellar but the sides take away from the whole image.

Sorry to be critical.

The hood looks awesome though. Anything for 89-95 p/u's?

Im trying to find the cheapest way to go with the least hassel to acheive a hood with scoop. I would paint the CF hood to match my truck.

to me cf is space age technology and to have it on your rig even just a little bit makes it unique. To my knowledge the only other suv they make a cf hood for is the navigator

Rumor from VIS is racer bought a batch of hoods that we blemished, and may have mis-weaves, etc.

So,do the CF hoods still need the extra parts that the OEM hood needs or is it a true scoop?

Is this cheaper than an OEM hood? You can get a scooped hood for $130 at www.partstrain.com and another $150 or so for the OEM parts you'll need and some paint and you shouldn't be too much over $600.
