Can't figure out an interior squeek...

I have an incredibly loud squeeking coming from the glovebox/passenger vent/airbag area. The squeeking/rattling ONLY sounds off when I'm on the throttle. Any time I let off the throttle, the squeek goes away. This makes me think it has something to do with engine vibrations rattling whatever is in the passenger vent.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

A vent mouse maybe? He probably gets scared when you stomp on the throttle...

Just kidding. It might help if you add some detail as to what type of vehicle you are talking about. In my truck the glovebox comes out pretty easily and with it out of the way you can see most of the possible suspects up in there. If it were me I would pull the glovebox and then the passenger seat so I can lay on my back on the passenger side. Then have someone drive the truck around while I poke around in there with a flashlight.

There is a TSB to fix this. It is a few things working in combo. The defrost vent and the bracing under the dash all rub together and make the squeak.

One fix is to insert some rubber weather stripping between the windshield and the dash.
Or disassemble the dash, and under the pass side air bag, tie the braces together with a heavy duty zip tie or wire.

On customstacos.com they have a fix in the tech section

Sorry guys, I should have been more specific.

It's a 96 SR5 4runner. Thanks for the tips, I'll check out customstacos.
