02 Tacoma 2.7L 4x4 138000 miles. Truck runs great, no chatter. I've read reports on timing chain replacement ranging from 150000 to over 200000, noting that Toyota has no service interval. Has anyone ever lost one and if so, was there any warning? I don't want to lose the motor, but replacing the chain on this engine looks like a big job, especially if its unnecessary.

 

I think I read somewhere that the 3RZ needs a timing chain job at 300k miles. I think. haha.
