Ok...I have my 98 Runner now and absolutely love it. I have a reasonable amount of mods and it has turned out to function rather well off-road. I am wanting to have a vehicle that can handle many of the obstacles out here in the midwest and I am thinking of putting some more money into the runner. However, I found a 85 1G 4Runner for $1500 that is in good shape that I was thinking about buying. My delima is this:

a) Should I put my money into my 98 (locker, sliders etc..) and still have it be my daily driver?

or

b) Should I buy the 1G, lock both ends, regear and throw on some 35s and have a bad a$$ trail rig? The thing is with this is until I move out of Ohio, there isn't much need for something like this. Should I wait till I'm out west?

So this is what I've been thinking about for the past few days. If you guys have any insight that would be nice. Sorry for the ramble...

 

Or, buy the 1G for $1500, fix/clean it up and sell it for $4k. Use the profits to mod the 98 for FREE... $1500 seems really cheap for any 4Runner...

I say don't beat up the new one. Abuse the old one. You'd hate to tear up your daily driver. Just my opinion though. I'd never risk my 99 on anything I wasn't sure about. The 90 model... I'd take it over whatever with no worries.
