Welcome to the forum, Duane.

I doubt that there is an aftermarket carb manifold available. Personally, I think it would be a step backwards to put a carb on it...

With 142k on the clock, I bet the symptoms you describe are from clogged or dirty fuel injectors. Theres some info somewhere on here about sending them out to get them cleaned, maybe try a search...

Tell us a little more about the problems, a few more specifics about the truck, and what work you have already done, and I'd bet someone here could provide a little more insight into helping you get your vehicle running better.

With that kind of mileage you should replace the O2 sensors.
You may need to do some work to figure out where the problem lies.
Don't go backwards and add a carb.....

Well, for the right amount of money you can. But why would you want to. As for your idle problem try BG 44 or Lube control fuel system cleaner or even Redline Fuel system cleaner. Change your O2 sensor. should only have 1.
Check to see if the headgasket campaign has been done. and ya may need to change the timing belt if it hasn't been done yet.

Oh sorry, I forgot, Welcome to yotatech. Glad to have ya aboard.

I would also take a look at your EGR valve. Mine went bad on my previous truck (1995 Chevy Tahoe) and it didn't idle well at all.

I think www.doaracingengines.com is coming out w/ a kit to convert the 3.0 to carb. It's in their "coming soon" section on the site. That said I wouldn't do it though because I hate carbs.

well the runner has a4 to 6 inch lift with 32's and a flow master dual exit muffler and thats all i know about what been done to it
it has had a tune up with in the last 5k miles or so

should i get gears for the front and rear in the mid 4's or low 5's?
i think that would help the take of and downshifting problem

thanks

Here's a quick chart.

Automatic tranny:
31" tires = 4.88
33" tires = 5.29
35" tires = 5.71

Manual tranny:
31" tires = 4.56
33" tires = 4.88
35" tires = 5.29

I wouldn't run 35" tires with the 3.0 & automatic tranny. You would be all show and no go. Know what I mean?
