Can 2k4 4Runner come with factory installed alarm?

Greetings:

I am wondering if I can find a 2k4 4Runner Sport edition with a RS3200 factory installed alarm along with the following options:

1. Double decker cargo system
2. Power tilt & slide sunroof
3. Rear spoiler w/ Center high mounted stop light
4. 5 Pieces Carpet / Cargo mat set
5. Daytime running lights

Based on the sale person that I go to, it doesn't exist and I have to pay for $400 to install the alarm from an outsider. I don't mind to pay $400; however, I am not sure that the non factory installed alarm will be fully compatible with the electrical wiring or electronics sensor (Central unit for instance). It could screw something up and it will be costly to repair later on.

What do you think?

Advance thanks for your insight thoughts

welcome!

1: yes it comes from factory
2: yes that comes factory too

Don't bother wasting your $$ on stock alarm (it's a piece of ˟˟˟˟˟). You're better off getting an aftermarket alarm at a separate shop (don't bother having the dealer install it as they'll rip you off). You can get a very good alarm for like 400 installed and it will definitely be better than the stock RS3200 alarm. After market alarms are fully compatible.

never buy accessories from the stealer (they make $$$), always buy from an outside source

good luck

Thanks for your help and

I always think factory installed is better, since they know what is and is not compatible with the car electrical and electronic system. I had a 99 camry with a dealer installed (not factory) RS3000 and the remote keeps die out. The replacement remote cost me something like$185. Also, I had some bad experince with alarm installation shop in the past as well.

Anway, I think I am going to follow your advice and had an outside shop to install it. I hope that the shop know what they are doing and doesn't screw the car electrical or electronic system. I've been told that they're backing up their installation with a lifetime warranty on connection and limited lifetime on the central unit. How can one know if the shop doesn't do a sloppy job before leaving your car to the installer?

Best way to take a look at the quality of their work is asking them to see their work first hand if they have a car in the bay that they're working on

If they're pretty confident and pride in their work, they'll be more than happy to show you around and give ya a tour of their bay along with the work they do, showing you their current job on another vehicle.

I've never really had any problems/issues w/ alarms but at the sametime, it never really stayed on long enough

GOod luck!

Got ya, will follow your advice in couple of days or so. Hope that my deal goes thru. I had an offer for a 4Runner v6 4x4 sport ed. for $29764. I take it to another dealer and ask if the price can be beat. They actually beat it by $300 below, the only problem they don't have the car available. So now I have to go back to the first dealer and bargain on the price. I don't know if I should buy it if they don't want to bargain. Well, I guess I will find out on Monday.

Thanks for the advice.

I got a 03 4runner sport edition with
Power tilt/slide moonroof - running boards - double decker system with nets - spoiler - sport appearance package - mats - alloy wheel & VIP RS3200 plus alarm + medical emergency kit for $25,271.75 with a 99 camry 96000 miles as trade in..So I would haggle.
