Camper Shell questions
#2
Don't most new camper shell places sell used ones as well? I'm not sure if they all fit the same. They are probably all pretty similar though, but keep in mind that there are ones that are MADE for your truck, and ones that may just fit. For instance I think the one I had on my truck before it was stolen (and the canopy ditched by the thief) wasn't an exact fit but made for maybe a regular cab toyota 4x4 truck (where as mine is an extra cab), and the one I got from insurance was made exactly for my truck because it contours the extended cab way better and looks like much better.

No, small trucks are not all the same. A shortbed S10, a Mitsu mini SB, and Yota shortbeds canopies will not fit each other. S10 is narrower, mitsu is shorter than Yota by 2". Note the mitsu canopy fit a Ranger perfectly. Then there's the cab shape issue - if a canopy if form fitting to the slope of the cab then even a Toyota shortbed standard cab canopy is different from a shortbed Xtracab canopy, even though the beds are the same.
And I second what Jimabena said. The Tundra and the Dakota (and now the Raider) are the only midsizes.
Best to measure first.
