well at least id say steer clear of LC, they ar ethe joke imo. engnbldr has everything we need for what you can get out of these engines for a better price and better service.

Tcr

I have had a downey cam in mine and was pleased with it then i had the head rebuilt buy engbldr.com and had them put thier 270 cam and didn't see much of a difference. They both are great improvements, but if i were to do it again i would get the EFI package from TCR .

Will I have a seat of the pants difference when I rebuild the 22re(bored) with a bigger cam and throttle body?I want some good power.I know the 22re isn't a powerhouse but would like an improvment.I would like to do this without having any major computer tuning done.

Any computer tuning?I also will regear from stock to 5.29's so that will make a difference in itself.

Computer tuning consisted if disconnecting the battery when I started the project and reconnecting it when I was ready to fire up the engine (that is I reset it and it figured everything out). I actually down-geared my truck, went from 5.29s to 4.88s (33" tires) and had more zip afterwards with 4.88s than I did before with 5.29s. But I did drive it for a few days with the mods and 5.29s and that was very nice, pulled most of my test hills in 5th gear.

Would this be a good kit?I don't know if I should buy this kit and have the shop install everything or just have them build an engine with a kit of their choice.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...978320930&rd=1
