Question Buying a '94 4Runner, any specific problems/recalls I should be looking for?

Depending on what the mechanic says tomorrow I may be buying a 1994 4Runner SR5 4x4 with 106k... Are there any problems in particular I should ask the mechanic to check on? Would you have him check the compression? Thanks,

Tristan

Whatever you do! Don't buy an 94. 3.0's are Guttless wonders. Save up for a 96 with the 3.4 you will be so stoked! Like night and day. Not kidding around here.. seriously buy a 96.....

i know a guy that just bought a 93 runner 4x4 with leather for $4,500 3 weeks ago

you will not be unhappy with a 4runner of any year

problems i have seen in the 2nd gen 4runners is butt sag but thats easy to fix

Like Brent says, check to see if the head gasket has been replaced. Call a dealer with the VIN #. Don't expect a rocket or great gas milage, but other than that, the V6 is an excellent engine.
