Buying an 84 Runner

im looking into buying a used 84 runner with 282000 miles. But the engine was done 60k ago. What should i take a good look at when examing it closely? What should i be prepared to fix or replace if i buy this rig. It hasn't been beat. Thanks.

Look underneath it and check for rust. Frame rust and body rust. Check for evidence of leaks that have not been fixed and excessive abuse to the interior. normal wear and tear is OK but an abused interior is a sign that the veh. did not have a good life.
Thats all I can think of now. Hopefully someone else will chime in with some more advise.
And WELCOME to Yotatech!

take a look up on the frame where the torque rod is attached, if its cracked, then thats a sign that it may have been abused in the past, and check where the front spring hangers attach for cracks also, generally they don't crack in those places unless they've been "used"
