Bumper retrofit?

I've done some searches but every time I type in "bumper" it just floods the results with new build-ups/fabs.

Has anyone had any experience with doing a 'fat lip' 99-02 bumper replacement with a 96-98 bumper? I like the stock look and the better approach angle of that bumper compared to the big lips. Especially on the limited, I think chrome is the way to go over the painted bumper. Is the bolt up pattern the same?

There is a reason the 99-02 4Runners have the fat lip bumper- the frame has an extended crush zone, and the bumper needed to be extended out to allow for it. You won't be able to put a bumper from a 96-98 on you rig for this reason.

I would recommend looking into an aftermarket bumper if you're worried about approach angle.

Yes you will. The Extended crush zone un bolts, take it off, youll need to put on some of your small bumper crush zones, tjuen simply bolt the "new one" one
