Bump When letting Clutch outq

2004 Tacoma, V6, 5 spd, Extra Cab.

Of late every time I let the clutch out from a stop I feel a thud or bump. I do not think it is axel bind as I have greased the slip. Could this be carrier bearing starting to go? I also have an intermittent sequel, sounds almost like wind thru a small crack, when I let off the gas. this can happen at any speed in any weather. The sound seems to be coming from about the spot the cab and bed meet or about the same location of the carrier bearing.

Could the bearing be on it's way out? If not, any ideas?

U joints seem to be tight. Cannot move driveshaft at all.

You should try to figure out exactly where the noise is coming from.
Have a buddy let out the clutch while you are along side of the truck. It would really help to narrow down which end of the driveline the noise is coming from.

the sequel is too intermittent to have someone along side. Sometimes it happens at high speeds, sometimes low speeds and sometimes it doesn't make any noise at all.

The bump can only be felt not heard. Feels like under my seat .

try greasing your propeller shafts. that has shown to be the solution to similar probs in many cases.

Did that already. it's where I began when the symptoms first appeared.

, my truck is a 2000 tacoma SAS so some things might be diffrent, but heres some ideas, i have had this happen to be twice, both times fixed, first time the slip yoke seized on my front draft shaft so every time i would hit a bump my transfer case would slap against my body and i would feel it right under my butt/seat, the second time was actually last week after wheeling on my way back down i had the same sound/feeling under my butt but this time it wasn't my slip yoke on my drive shaft, i had a bolt back its self out on my transmission cross member and another almost all the way but was jammed before falling out, so every time i would give it some gas in reverse or forward and torque it out my transmission would have some play, and the transfer case yet again would slap itself on the underside of my body and i would feel it on my feet/butt, i hope that helps
