Bulb Size for Heater Controls

Need to replace the light bulb behind the heater controls on my '91 4R. I believe this is the same size bulb used in the glovebox. Can someone give me the bulb size and where to purchase?

Thanks.

I can't remember the size off hand, but the dealer wants about $3.00 or more for it.

I took the bulb to a local autoparts store, and they matched me up with one that would work.

If you don't have it out yet, I have the info on my site on the "Tips & Tricks" page on how to remove it.

There is also a post here somewhere on how to remove it comeplete with pics.

Ok, I'll take it to the parts store and see if a replacement is available and confirm the size for everyone. From what I have found on the net, it may be a "74" sized bulb.

Philly: I found this site for colored bulbs:

my bulb has a little plastic/rubber sleeve over it to give its color. I suppose you could try to find some sort of stuff of different color to replace it.

Bulb is a #74. I bought a two pack at Autozone for about $1.25. There is a green rubber cover that you will need to pull off and put on the new bulb.

I'll be replacing my bulbs to color ones on my 4Runner and my brothers pickup. You can find transparent glass paint at most hobby shops. I'll post pictures when I get them done along with my new reverse indiglo gauges.

I changed the bulbs behind the heater control panel and the front side marker lights. The heater control panel uses a 74 sized bulb while the front side markers use size 168. Purchased them at the local Advanced Auto Parts store for about $3 each.
