Broke my ARB locker
#22
thats my next question. When we take it apart, what should a blown seal look like? I mean what should I be looking for if thats what it is? Also how would you prevent this from happening again?

if i had to troubleshoot it, i think i'd pull the 3rd, then hook up some shop air to it and see where the air is leaking from...
i doubt that you'll know how to prevent it until you get in there and see what is leaking and if there are any clues as to why it's leaking.

ok so I got the locker fixed today. The O rings were fine. The copper tubing was placed a little too high, so when we reinstalled the 3rd member the copper tubing got pushed back on to the gears. We figured this out becouse there is a scratch spot on the inside of the diff where it was hitting. The copper tubing has knicks in it like something kept hitting it. This caused vibration and there was a stress tear in the copper tubing right where it exits the 3rd member. I got pics of the copper tubing and I'll post it a little later. But it was an easy fix about 2 hours for the whole thing.

They have their own problems .. mine was leaking air but still engaged .. vs a e-locker that won't engage if malfunctioning. Which would you rather have on the trail?
again like everyone said this was an install issue .. I don't blame the guy, ˟˟˟˟ happens, he made it right. I got no complaints, just a locker

Same thing has happened to me.... as we all know... thirds are HEAVY! When I put my 3rd back in my front axle, it pused into the ring and the ring eventually wore away the copper line. No prob to fix though... Pain in the ass to R&R. Grrr... Glad you fixed your problem though!
