Bogging and check engine?

Bogging and check engine?

Ok first of all my check engine light is on. The dude at autozone told me that i didnt screw my gas cap on all the way but i know i did. when he was diagnosing it i was reading hte machine and saw somehting about throttle and fuel or something. Later that day i noticed if i floor it, i mean really floor it it bogs down but when i let off like a half inch its back to WOT. Whats my problem

You should still be under powertrain warranty. What's your mileage?

thats a good 1 first a loose gas cap could give you a p1457 code which means vapor leak in the fuel tank area. as for that causing your problem for no power at wot i cant see happen. its possable that the code they told you that you had was not the code that was in there because they could not diagnose that problem. It sounds like you could have a bad tps sensor but only a guess. I would take it to the dealer.

No warrenty. I bought it used. It has 88k miles. I was wondering if maybe its running a little rich? Ithink i might do the deckplate mod tomorrow maybe it will help out.

You should get to the root cause of the problem before you do the deckplate.
