Body Lift bumper question

For those of you with body lifts, i have a question. I have a first gen Runner, and i am looking at doing a body and drive train lift of two inches. What happens to the bumper? I want to get a TJM bull bar for my rig, and is it going to look terrible with the body lifted? Thanks

The TJM will let you adjust the height some, more if you do some mods to the mounting holes. If you lift the body 2" expect at least a 1.5 inch gap between the bumper and the body, unless you do some customizing to the mounting holes where the bumper mounts to the bumper bracket. Also expect the bull bars to partially cover the head lights.

Here's a '94 p/u w/ ARB front bumper, 1" body lift and stock bumper location, can hardly tell there is a lift on it:

I've heard the TJM brackets are fairly easy to modify for a body lift, although I've not seen the actual work needed.

Yeah, I looked into it for a friend and it looked like it would be easy for about one inch additional adjustment up on a TJM T-17. More than that and it becomes more difficult. Also if the bumper will be used for winching you start putting more leverage on the mount if you raise it too much. I would say for a 2 inch lift it wouldn't be hard to make it look good, 3 inches would be harder with some cutting at the bottom of the bumper and maybe welding an extention onto the bumper mount, that's when you would want to start worrying about increased leverage on the mount. Good to see you crusing over here 4Crawler.
