Bleeding help?
Hey guys. I replaced the clutch MC a few days ago on my 84 p/u and bled the system, but couldn't seem to get all of the air out. I drove it for a few days, untill I had time to bleed in again, but had the same problem. I have bled the thing about 6 times now, and cannot get all of the air out. Now it won't even go into gear. The fluid level stays the same in the res, so I feel confident the MC is good. Any other ideas? I really need this fixed A.S.A.P. and a search didn't pull up much. Thanks all!!
P.S. on a side note I need washers for the fuel rail on a 93 4Runner. Are those a standard size, and where is a good place to get them? Thanks agian. Later!!

That is one thought I had, but there doesn't seem to be a pool under the truck. I didn't replace the SC, and was wondering if that was the problem.

Yes, seems like the clutch slave cylinder. When that goes bad there's rarely a pool of fluid under the truck. The seals just give out and don't create the pressure required to engage the clutch. I used to use simple, cheap repair kits. But sometimes the inner walls of the cylinder itself is so jacked-up that you're better off getting a whole new slave cylinder.
If you can't find a new slave cylinder in time, some fine, fine grit sandpaper can clean up the inner walls (if they're corroded, inspect 'em first).
Good Luck!

Sounds like the slave cyl seals are letting the fluid flow by instead of holding it where it belongs. Not letting it out, just flowing around inside the sc so it doesn't work.
The gaskets you need fo rthe fuel rail are the ones for the injectors? Napa carries them for about $4.00 a set. Very reasonable price.

No I need the washers for the rail itself, where the bolts connect one rail to the other.
Thanks for all of the help guys. I think I'll replace the sc on Monday when I get a day off. As usual YotaTech ROCKS!!
By the way 2ToyGuy, thanks for your service to our country. And thank your daughters as well. We are all in debt to you. My whole family is military (some are still active), I never went in due to a promise I made my Mom, and now at 26-27 yrs old I think it's too late. One of the things I regret not doing in life, but I can at least thank all of those who have served in the military for us when I get the chance. Thanks again to you and your family.

i had to buy a new slave one day because mine broke, i mean literally broke, the puhrod bent in half and made the seal 2 pieces, a bolt backed out and left me semi stranded... luckily, i was able to drive without the clutch.....
oh yeah, it cost me $40 from a local parts store for a raybestos one... if i looked harder i probably could have gotten it cheaper

Given teh way I was raised, and the way I feel about our country, I couldn't have NOT served. And I tried to instill those feelings in my kids too. I think it worked. Still have two sons to go. 3 years for one, 5 for the other...
I always feel embarrassed when folkes say things like that. Like I said, how could I NOT have?
Any way...
