Black Pearl Toyota Logo

OK...I got my black pearl emblems today from TRDParts4U and they are great except for one thing...the larger toyota logo emblem that is supposed to go on front is WAYY to big...what can I do about this? Do they sell one that is the right size for the 4runner? Were the Limited front grilles bigger than the SR5's??

Thanks, I emailed trdparts4u but I dunno how fast their email gets answered.

After speaking with Jason B., it sounds like I have the emblem package for the 2001+ year models with the larger front grill.

Can somebody second that or gimme another idea of what went wrong?

OK well I gave Toyota of Dallas a call today and spoke with the lady from TRDParts4U

Apparently the specific emblem package for the '99-'00 models (with the smaller emblem on the front grille) has been discontinued, so instead she sent me the package for an '01-'02 model. I just got off the phone with my buddy up at the dealer and he said he could hook me up with the front grille for an '01-'02 painted black at their body shop for $105 bucks and have it ready for me tomorrow.

So just a heads up to those wanting to do the black pearl emblems as an upgrade after the fact on your '96-'00 Runners...you WILL have to get the '01-'02 front grille unless you want to paint the front emblem that you already have. The grill normally costs $115 and to get painted whatever color your rig is will be about $20 bucks more. Unless of course you've got connections at your dealer and then you'll get it for cheaper

Just thought I'd let everybody know!

On that subject...I have a question for the 4Runner owners out there. What if I wanted to buy the color matched bumpers/grille/etc. for my 2000 with the chrome. IS that possible?

I already have the hood scoop - I would like to upgrade to the color matched bumbers and grille.

The "very expensive" part is where I am wondering just how expensive. There is a aftermarket parts place where you can get the grille, mounts, trim, bumpers, etc. But I am not sure of the configuration on a 4Runner with the color matched plastic and what all goes underneath. At http://www.autotoyparts.com most of the parts could be had for around $800. But nothing covers the color matched items.

My rig is a "grocery getter" that I am not planning on going off-road unless I have to, so I am going to be doing some simple 'street mods' (brakes, deckplate, inverter, etc.) and getting the color matched bumpers is one thought I have tossed around.

Post a pic of the rig so we can see exactly what you are trying to replace, I would suggest calling your local dealer and getting part numbers for all the pieces needed, get the prices from them that are going to be ungodly and then shop around. Check around, I'm sure you can find something.

I was amazed at the price of the grille myself! He said that and I was like.."No man, I need the whole grille, not the clips for it." And he was like, I know. I kind of paused and then said, I'll be right there. LoL.

Good idea...Essentially I am thinking of the 4Runner Highlander look with the color matched bumpers and grille. Mine are currently Chrome.

buy paint for 70 bucks and did the grill guard center portion, licence plate surround, rear bumper plastic, front bumper piece and 96 style grill all sprayed by a friend. it will cost you over 100 each just to have the chrome stripped off the bumper parts front and rear
