In fact this sounds like a good saterday mod .. remove the emblems, paint them black and slap them back on again.

I've removed them once before, you just have to scrap out the glue stuff inside, and then reapply with heat (hair dryer)

Check Bobs page .. I thik their might be something .. but I'm just going to get an exacto knife or a blade, and just sort of peel it back .. clean it off, sand it down, prime it and paint it.

Use dental floss to take them off, doesn't scratch paint and works well. Mint tastes best

Put some heat on it first with a heat gun, then use floss to remove them. But don't hold the gun too close or the badge will bubble.

I did paint the front emblem following the write-up. The paint is now chipping and comming off. I beleive it is because it does not have the hardend clear coat that the factory ones have. And it is darn near impossible to get paint to stick to chrome. Especially when you are going 70 and it gets hit by a piece of something.

Just got the emblems in today, the kit has the proper larger front emblem for the 2001-2002 4Runners. The only gripe I have is the smaller round toyota emblem's finish is very poor, so I'll be getting in contact with Brandsports to get this corrected. I'm not too worried about changing out my front emblem, since I just installed a pair of Hella 4000's and they pretty much cover it up.

I received my set today as well. I haven't put them on yet, but to me finish seems to be pretty good. I'll have to see how it looks like after several weeks, so my response might change.
